I found this picture of my mother as a little girl. The picture was already faded, tattered and torn, but I managed to restore it to its original state.

Achei essa foto da minha mãe de quando ela era ainda bem nova. A foto já estava desbotada e desgastada, mas consegui restaurá-la de volta ao seu estado original.

This might be a children’s book my mother read as a child since she kept it for such a long time.

Esse deve ser um livro infantil que minha mãe leu quando criança, já que o guardou por tanto tempo.

Long before social media and Instagram existed, people found creative ways to express their feelings. The medium may be different, but the message is still the same.

These pictures were in a box filled with old printed photos that belonged to my mother. I’m digitising and restoring them. It’s amazing to bring these photos to life again and discover all that was hidden and faded with time.

Muito antes das postagens em redes sociais e no Instagram, as pessoas tinham maneiras criativas de expressar seus sentimentos. O meio pode ser diferente, mas a mensagem ainda é a mesma.

Essas fotos estavam em uma caixa cheia de fotos impressas antigas que pertenciam à minha mãe. Estou digitalizando e restaurando. É incrível trazer essas fotos de volta à vida e descobrir tudo o que estava escondido e desbotado com o tempo.

That’s me in the picture. Funnily, I remember pretty well this dungaree I am wearing. I even remember its colour – it was blue – and that I didn’t like wearing it at all. My mum made it herself on her Singer sewing machine, she even embroidered kids drawing on it. I know she made it with love, and sorry for being a bad boy 🙂

Esse sou eu na foto. Curiosamente, lembro-me muito bem desse macacão que estou usando, lembro até da cor – era azul – e que eu não gostava nadinha dele. Minha mãe que costurou na sua Singer, ela até bordou um desenho nele. Eu sei, ela fez com amor e desculpe por ter sido um menino malcriado 🙂
